About

Deal Moose tracks deals, sales, and coupons from Canadian retailers so you don't have to dig through flyers, marketing emails, and a dozen store apps to find out what's actually worth buying this week.

Deal Moose is focused entirely on Canada—Canadian retailers, Canadian pricing, Canadian shipping, and... Canadian employees, even if that means working for a big US company. We're out for a good deal and from time to time that might mean shopping at a US or even a UK retailer. That's still elbows up, proud of the leaf and cheap to the core!

Deal Moose is run by a small team of Canadians who got tired of paying full price. Between us we've spent years working on deal and shopping sites and blogs, so we've seen a lot of what makes a deals site useful and a lot of what makes one a waste of your time. We're building Deal Moose to be the better.

We cover three kinds of things:

How we find and choose what to post

We monitor a growing list of Canadian retailers every week, pull together everything currently on sale, and go through it before anything gets published. We're not an automated feed of every price change we can find—if it's not a real discount, or it's a discount so small it's not worth your time, we leave it out. Our bar is simple: would we tell a friend about this, or is it filler?

For products that go on sale repeatedly throughout the year—small appliances are a good example—we're also working on ways to show you whether a "deal" is actually a good price by the standards of that product's own history, not just a badge that says a big percentage off.

How we make money

Deal Moose earns a small commission when you click through to a retailer and make a purchase, through affiliate links. It doesn't cost you anything extra, and it doesn't change which deals we choose to post—a deal earns a spot here because it's good, not because of what it pays us. It's what keeps the site running and free to use.
